Ministry Overview

At Grace Community Church, it is our belief that church not only be a place to gather together to worship, but that it also be a place where you can plug in and get involved as well in a community of believers that are passionate for the things of God. Each and every service incorporates the gifts and talents of many as they utilize their abilities in service to God. In areas such as worship, youth, media, and technical for example, we make every effort at Grace Community Church to provide a venue and a platform for you to not only attend church, but to serve God and others. Below is a listing of some of the many programs and ministries available and in operation at GCC. Whatever your interest, chances are there is a place for you at Grace Community Church to connect and grow.

Halal Dance

The goal in any visual ministry is to be so hidden in the Lord that He is the focus of those who are watching, and the dancer is simply the one who helped draw you into His presence.

There is a real blending; a unity that can be established between the musicians, the singers and the dancers during worship.

Food Pantry

Grace Community Church has provided an emergency food pantry to the Streator, IL area since 1997. The Portions ministry, which is made up of volunteer members from GCC, helps around 600 people monthly. Pantry hours are Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:00am to 11:00pm. For assistance or information, call 815.672.7700. The food provided is a combination of government commodities along with food purchased by Grace Community Church. Listed below are organizations the Portions Ministry works in

Bus Ministry

On Sunday mornings, our bus and van go out and bring people of all ages to church and deliver them home after the service with a prepared sack lunch.
Because the bus ministry incorporates the teamwork of various ministries working together, beginning with the bus ministry team itself along with Superkids youth church, food pantry and lunch providers and more, the bus ministry serves to support the core vision of Grace Community Church.

Under His Wings

Under His Wings was founded in 1985 by Ken and Dixie Atkinson. UHW is an interdenominational, volunteer based Christian organization providing help and assistance for women in need. Operated by Pastors Tom & Kim Jewett, Under His Wings is a non-profit organization funded by donations, profits from the UHW resale shop, and an Annual Banquet/auction. Most donations come from private individuals and area churches.

"Sing to the Lord, for He has done excellent things;

                       This is known in all the earth."

                                                                - Isaiah 12:5

Every service at Grace Community Church incorporates musicians, singers, worship dancers, sound, lighting, and video production. At GCC, we don't view any of the technical arts as being in the background, rather, each form of expression or skill is an integral part and extension of worship and service to God.
